The Center for Black Women’s Wellness will host its annual health fair on Saturday, November 11 from 11 AM to 3 PM at the Dunbar Neighborhood Center located at 477 Windsor St. in Atlanta. There will be vendors and exhibitors and free health screenings. Some of the free screenings include mammograms, prostate exams, body mass index testing, rapid HIV/STI screenings, vision and dental screenings, blood pressure checks. There will also be free fitness demonstrations, cooking demonstrations, stress management sessions, extreme couponing tips, and life skill tips.
Resources from local organizations will also be available. There will be free food, free hygiene kits, and other free household supplies and other giveaways. This event is designed for the entire family.
Please stop by the Atlanta Fibroid Clinic table, where you will find information regarding fibroids and UFE. Fibroids are non-cancerous tumors located in and around the uterus and often wreak havoc on a women’s monthly cycle. UFE, uterine fibroid embolization, is a nonsurgical treatment for fibroids. It takes about an hour, patients go home the same day with a Band-Aid, and the recovery period is about a week. The procedure is performed at our clinic, which is located on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard.
